UK house prices grow by 91 percent over the past 10 years

According to figures just released by the Halifax, the average price per home has risen from £86,095 to £164,310.  This is an increase of 91%.

Contrary to a lot of media coverage, the average price for a home in the North of England has increased the most and grown by 102%, compared to a 75% increase in the South of England. 
 
Huge differences between average prices in the North and South remain.  The average price per home in the south is £206,091 and in the North is £132,163.
