The responsiveness of the team was excellent and when things had to be moved along very quickly at the end Daniel was extremely helpful and instrumental in ensuring the completion happened on the day we needed.

In terms of the systems, I think I only received 1 text message at the beginning but no alerts thereafter. This was much the same as the online system which I'm not sure how accurately it was kept up-to-date throughout. I just found it was much easier to ring for an update so I could be sure I had the most current information.

The company is generally good for a firm of solicitors especially considering the price, but you can't get away from the fact that it is still a firm of solicitors and everything seems to take forever. We were first time buyers and there was no chain at the other end, but it still took two months and a week to complete. Our solicitor said it was mainly the other solicitors fault (countrywide) which looking at their reviews is probably true but I did feel that nothing was done unless I chased. To be fair to our solicitor, when I emailed him requesting a timeline he actually managed to beat it by a day, which was nice. However my main issue was that at the start, whenever I emailed my solicitor it took at least 2 days to get a reply and generally more like 3 or 4 days. I understand he is busy, but even a short email to say "sorry I am busy, I will get back to you as soon as possible" would go a long way.

You’re right that in this case we had to wait for the other sides and this is sadly often the case with conveyancing – you can do everything right, very quickly, but still have to wait for the other party.
