The two transactions were protracted and painful, in fact they described it as the worst chain they had ever dealt with. Throughout it all they kept in contact and offered great help and support to me. Cannot recommend them highly enough. A very friendly and highly competent team.

Very efficient service. Our solicitor Tom always called back within a couple of hours and responded to emails the same day. Gave advice on a particularly stressful purchase.

I found that contacting the assistants of my primary contact resulted in a much quicker reply and they, and all the staff I spoke with, were very helpful and happy to help with any concerns. A major problem with the chain was at the very bottom and I was about to lose my new home and the chain collapse if it was not for the actions of another solicitor further down the long chain whom I was able to contact. The conveyancing system needs to be overhauled so that people cannot say they want to buy a house without stumping up a large (refundable) deposit as soon as they do.

Very friendly and efficient service, Gary was always contactable and reassured me throughout the whole process. We had quite a lot of twoing and throwing with estate agents, but I was confident our solicitor was keeping on top of things on our behalf. Would happily recommend to others as we had no problems with them at all. Very competitively priced and good value for money.

They are excellent. They communicated to me very well and on a regular basis. I found their online tracker brilliant, it not only let me know how things were progressing, but detailed what I could expect through all stages to completion, with handy notes posted on active stages. For me personally this was extreemly good and beyond my expectations, especially considering their price was £500 cheaper than another firm.

Considering all the information I'd gathered from friends and family on what time scales, costs and agro to expect, I've had a uniquely smooth and trouble free house purchase that, if anything, moved faster through processing than I could match with packing my house. I'm very, very pleased and happy with Beaumont Legal and would recommend them for a house purchase.

Selling property on south coast. First instructed BL in Feb 14 with buyer from London in short chain. Little progress for nearly three months. Buyer pulled out just before exchange in mid-June, citing delays in our estate agent and solicitor providing information as well as obtaining local searches. As a result we lost the property we were hoping to buy. Fortunately BL's "no sale, no fee" meant minimal legal costs.

We moved to a different agent, and our file was transferred inside BL to another very competent conveyancer. Sarah gave prompt service throughout the 5 weeks from instruction to exchange. Completion due in a few days time.

Like others, most of the communications was by email, giving a good written record. But we did find that the staff often failed to update the online case tracker for days or even weeks, which caused some confusion. My experience of case management systems in other firms and professions is that case trackers are automatically updated when certain triggers are reached.

Most correspondence and forms were sent in pdf format, which means a "cut & paste" job, or handwriting forms. For most residential clients it would easier to have files in doc or docx format.

Four stars for quality are only because of alleged tardiness of first BL conveyancer (I would award Sarah 5*). Value for money excellent. We will be instructing Sarah when we find a new home to purchase.

Pretty happy overall, everything seemed to be done on time with good communication. Not sure on the point of the online case tracker as it doesn't get updated as soon as something is done and you get an email with the details anyway. I suppose the ultimate test is "would I use them again?" Yes, yes I would.

You get what you pay for and looking back I wish I'd paid a little more and gone elsewhere. My solicitor was either hopeless or hopelessly overworked. Constantly had to chase multiple times to get responses in order to get things moving. Online tracker was never updated with progress either so that was a waste of time. Eventually my file was taken over by a trainee who was much better, hence why I've given them two stars and not zero. Recommend you ask for James Gent if you do decide to use them.

Company response: Thanks for the feedback, which James will be very thankful for. We’re sorry that you didn’t get on with your first solicitor but glad that one of the team was able to sort things out for you.

Overall, we were satisified with the service offer by Beaumont Legal, however, the first solicitor assigned to our case was useless and had she remained at the firm, I'm sure my rating would have been 'unacceptable'. She consistently failed to meet the company's service standards, on some occasions failing to respond for over 2 weeks. She rarely answered the phone and had no voicemail to leaves messages. On one occasion she was unnecessarily rude when I contacted her for a response to a query raised over a week earlier. I was considering making a complaint, but before I had the chance I discovered 'she had left the business' and I was assigned to a new fee earner. From this point, everything changed. Sandra was prompt responding to email and always answered the phone, and despite having to clear up a lot of mess left by her predecessor really got things moving (for example failing to inform our mortgage lender of the correct purchase details which meant our mortgage offer had to be reissued at the 11th hour)

I really liked the online tracking tool, but unfortuneatly the first solictor rarely updated anything, so dates would eventually be moved back several weeks for no apparent reason. Used correctly, this would have been a really useful tool.

Company response: Hi Andy, we’re sorry your case didn’t start as you or we would have liked but are glad that it was turned around.
Thanks for the feedback.

Reasonably good but needed chasing - not a major problem for me but it might put some people off.

Company response: Thanks for the rating and the feedback; we’ll look into your case to see how we could build on our service.
