Once I made a complaint everything was dealt with quickly and efficiently, but up until that point the service was very unprofessional. I had to ask 8 times to get answers to simple questions, and on multiple occasions I was passed between two members of staff, who both advised that the other one was dealing with my case.

Company response: We’re sorry for the confusion that arose on this case but glad that, with the systems we have in place for when things go wrong, we were able to turn things around for you.

As you mentioned, when you contacted our feedback address senior staff became aware of the issue; they were able to get involved and clear up the issue and ensure you got to completion smoothly. We’re sorry this was needed and we appreciate the rating you have given.

Jayne Atkinson, representing Beaumont Legal, was a delight to have helping us. As well as providing a very efficient and professional service she was in herself warm, engaged and gave the feeling that she was entirely on your side and working hard to protect and further our interests. She is also an enormous laugh. The service Beaumont offers is without fault and working with Jayne made it as perfect as you can get. Just great when moving can be so stressful.

Problem occurred when the person dealing with our case left the company left and a) we weren't informed of this and b) nobody was assigned to pick up our case. It was only when we rang a few days after the person had left that somebody picked up the case somewhat reluctantly. Even then our file had gone missing and it wasn't clear whether it was found again. From the way we were dealt with I got the distinct impression these people work under considerable pressure. The only really good part of the service was during the day when we were due to complete and had a last minute hitch which the company pulled out all the stops and solved the issue to our satisfaction and relief.

Company response: We’re sorry that, when one of our team left the business, our handover process wasn’t followed as it should have been. By the time your case reached completion our support team had become involved and you were able to feel like they were pulling out all the stops for you. This is the level of service our clients should feel throughout any case and we’re sorry you didn’t receive this from the start.

This is an update to an earlier comment I made. I posted very poor feedback because there was a problem and they failed to even respond after 3 attempts to contact them. However they have now resolved the issue to my satisfaction after I spoke with the head of conveyancing and explained the problem to her. When I did that, the issue was resolved almost immediately - and she took the time to explain to me why the problem had arisen. In view of the fact that they have now resolved the problem, I have revised my feedback score to 5 stars.

Jayne was excellent from first contact to completion. She always called me back if I left her a message and responded promptly to emails. She was also really friendly and easy to talk to. I'd recommend Jayne and Beaumont Legal to anyone.

These guys know what they are talking about! As we are first time buyers we had a lot of questions and worries during the process. But Paula and her team were always happy to spend time on the phone explaining everything we could possibly need. Felt like they were on our side 100%, and did everything in their power to complete for the date we wanted, without missing any of the legalities.

Whilst my solicitor was lovely and friendly, there were so many errors. Despite phoning initially to explain my situation in detail (not relying on the online quote), the job was incorrectly quoted for. Not only did this add to the stress, it added to the cost and the time, not to mention the time spent on the phone complaining and arguing that I HAD given them all the information they required. She actually lied to me early on (on the telephone), stating categorically that she had not received any emails or phone calls from my buyers solicitor - something that proved to be incorrect and left me looking like a liar and an idiot later on, when my buyers solicitor sent me a detail list of all phone calls made, and copies of all the emails and letters sent! Work that I was told was in progress had not been started - which was later blamed on a junior member of staff who I was informed would be leaving the company shortly. Not much comfort to me. The online tracker was only ever updated when I complained that it hadn't been. On moving day, she managed to underpay my sellers by £500, delaying the whole process (although she did apologise) and we then had to pay over the phone via a debit card. All in all, my solicitor deserved a medal for dealing with my buyers - who were a total pain and very demanding. The price was very competitive, but I'm not sure I would use them again, unless I pestered them every day to make sure they were doing what they were supposed to be doing! All this, in spite of thoroughly checking customer feedback, looking at their website and phoning before asking them to take on my sale/purchase. Maybe I was just unlucky, but it's left me feeling very negative about the company. Oh, and my solicitor is obviously hugely overloaded with work, as some of her emails were sent during weekends and very late at night.

The team was affected when a nasty bug hit several members when there were already a couple of people on annual leave and the remaining members (such as those you mentioned) put in many extra hours to cover for this, for which we’re very grateful. Sadly it seems there was an error at the final stages but as you say a solution was found. We’re sorry that this affected you and would like to thank you for the understanding and recognition of the issues we faced.

Brilliant and painless service. As a first-time buyer a scary and seemingly complex process was seamless and prompt. Not once did I have a chase, and all was done by post and email. Convenient process, but helpful and prompt service whenever I had a query. Would recommend to anyone!
