Keith Allison is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with over 30 years of property experience. He has over 25 years’ experience working for building societies, 10 years as a Regional Surveyor for the West Midlands and 10 years in private practice.

Allison & Co are independent chartered surveyors who are not linked to or owned by an estate agent or lending institute and as a result we are only working with your best interests in mind.  Since we are solely surveyors, we can keep our overheads down and ultimately our prices as well. We offer quotes on the surveys and we can usually save you money on the cost of the survey.  We do them quickly and we feel the quality of our surveys is one of the best on the market. We offer a reasoned view, based upon our knowledge and experience; we don't make a mountain out of a molehill.  Equally if we think the property has problems we say so in a clear, jargon-free manner.  We also use photographs to clarify what we are saying, where necessary on the Building Surveys. Having a survey carried out on the property that you intend to buy will give you the extra peace of mind that you are buying the right one.

Building Surveys:

This report is really the best report to open your eyes to all of the potential or actual problems in your new home. Our building survey report goes in depth on all areas from minor to major and looks at the property from top to bottom, inside and out. You will be advised on areas that concern the chartered surveyor, why he feels there is a problem there and in most instances what he feels you need to do in order to rectify them. Our building survey report includes full colour photography, technical definitions, and a Helpline service after the report has been sent to you. You should also be able to ask the Surveyor to advise you on specific areas of concern or perhaps alterations or extensions that you may be considering within the Building Survey. The Building Survey is suitable for any property old or new (although people tend to think of it more in terms of older, unusual properties).  It is particularly useful if the property is older or has been extended or altered or perhaps been kept in a poor state of repair.  However, this may mean that your decision about which house to make an offer on is more informed from the start.

Home Buyers Report:

This type of survey reports on the condition of both the exterior and interior of the property and would include the market value and a reinstatement value of which the property should be insured for.

This is an RICS Report in their format. It reports on major faults and items likely to affect the property in the future if left unattended. The report is especially suitable for properties built after 1900 and is aimed at giving you peace of mind.
