Initially had some reservations about instructing a non-local solicitor but in practice there was nothing to worry about and I had a very positive experience. My purchase was slightly convoluted (no fault of RMNJ) but they investigated everything thoroughly and explained the issues clearly and patiently. Recommended.

No problem in general.
Extra services (if you need to negotiate something for example, or secure a retention) are a little expensive, but the service is generally good.

I got a quotes with local solicitors, and then RMNJ via reallymoving.com. The quotes were a huge amount cheaper using RMNJ, but I actually found the service was much better than the local service used previously and over £500+ cheaper. I would strongly suggest that you get plenty of quotes and compare, as the postal out of area service was first rate, and done solely by telephone and post, which was so easy, and extremely good value. I would never use a local service again, and pay an extra £500+ to do so.

RMNJ were very thorough and overall I was pleased with their service. They were extremely busy when we were using them and I did find things taking longer than I expected and us waiting on them for things at times. They always prioritise whoever is exchanging / completing that week before looking at your file - or even agreeing to speak to you on the phone, something which I found a little frustrating at times. It did feel a little 'stack em high sell em cheap' at times as they ploughed through the work load. Saying that, when I was dealt with I was very happy with the service offered and found them to be very good value for money. I would recommend them for sheer value but just note to take into consideration that they are a large national firm dealing with lots of cases.

Thank you for the kind words written about our firm. We are sorry to read that our client feels we didn't provide a fast service on this occasion. We have looked through the file of papers.
The speed of a conveyancing transaction is dictated by many factors, some of which are beyond your solicitor's control.
In this case, our client's own circumstances, delay by the seller in providing essential information and lender's special requirements all played a part in dictating the completion date in this case.
Despite some extra complications unique to this case, the purchase completed and the client was able to move in, just over 8 weeks after we first received the draft contract of sale, which is typical for a house purchase where a mortgage is required and the moving date has to be agreed with a seller in occupation.
Our client was correctly advised with our initial letter that the transaction would be likely to take 6-8 weeks from the date we received the draft contract papers.

RMNJ are a really slick operation and we recieved very good service indeed. I would certainly use them again. Of particular note are their "plain English" explanations of every step of the process; other legal firms could learn a lot! They were also willing to increase speed by sending and recieving scanned documents, and generally to use technology to the client's advantage.
As for Really Moving - well, we wouldn't have known about RMNJ if it wasn't for you, so thank you!! An easy to use website that made a major indirect contribution to our successful and relatively stress-free transaction.
