Am I being overcharged by solicitor
I’m worried that I am being overcharged by my conveyancing solicitor for our moving fees, how can I check that the costs are accurate, and if not, how can I get the money back? Sally, London
You should have received a client care letter at the start of the conveyancing process which outlines all the expenses. Sometimes these need to change if circumstances change such as leasehold problems not foreseen. If you are really worried, speak to your solicitor for reassurance but the last resort is the SRA.
