Advertising a house for sale
Our detached 4 bed detached property has been on the market for over 4 months, 12 weeks with one local agent and 6 weeks with a corporate agent. We've only received 3 lots of viewers who have confirmed that the actual house is lovely but haven't made an offer. We assume that the busy road that we live on is playing a part in putting them off. We have therefore reduced the price to reflect this. What else can we do?
I’d make sure your property is listed with the biggest and best estate agent in town, and therefore get the highest number of potential buyers looking at your property. Make sure they list your home on one of the major websites, preferably www.rightmove.co.uk. Your house will sell, but if there is something, like a road, that is putting many people off, it may take longer to find a buyer. If you’re in a rush, you may need to drop the price further, but if you can afford to wait, you’ll probably find someone eventually, provided your price is broadly ok.
