20 viewings and no offer on our house
My wife and I have had our house on the property market for almost two years. In that time, we have switched estate agents three times because none seem to be very pro-active. We have had over twenty potential buyers viewing the house, but as yet no offers. The predominant reason for not wanting the house (although most have said how nice the property is) is its location. We are on a council estate, in a corner plot, facing a row of shops. The shops are what put people off. We can do nothing to change the location of our house – so how can we hope to get a buyer when they all seem to dislike where the house stands? None of our estate agents have been able to offer any advice on how to improve our chances of ever selling.
1. Ensure that your advertising your property through the estate agent that sell the highest number of properties of your type in your town. 2. Insist that the agents are honest to buyers about the property in the description and when they talk to them, although they should, of course, up sell its plus points. 3. If you have a home that’s likely to put some people off it will inevitably take longer to find a buyer. If you can be patient, I’d wait. If not, you may need to consider dropping the price.
