Fake Energy Performance Certificates - how to spot them

Trading Standards have been alerted to fake EPCs or Energy Performance Certificates being presented by a small number of estate or letting agents.

 

If you are buying or renting a new home, we suggest that you look at your EPC closely. 

 

You will need to locate the 20-digit reference number, including the hyphens, which can be found at the top right of the first page.

If the number cannot be identified, or if your search brings up a different property address, we recommend you contact your local Trading Standards office.
