I cannot recommend John Murphy highly enough. If there was a 6 star option I would tick this. First the survey itself: completed quickly and efficiently. John called by phone the day after to confirm the main findings (some damp and woodworm) and followed up with the full written report a few days later. As the property was being sold as a 'full refurb' vendor agreed to pick up all costs saving me £2000-£3000 so I was already happy with the service and thought that was the end of matters. Several months later and I’m at exchange stage when my lawyers tell me there’s no building regs for some building works... Brilliant! This had been picked up in John's survey months ago for my lawyers to check and they're only telling me now! I had no idea what this meant ie would the house collapse around me for example? John took my phone call same day (Friday), took the time to explain it to me (load bearing walls etc) and his best estimate of the severity of the issue. Given the time that had elapsed since the survey he just wanted to check the plans etc again to refresh his memory and promised to get back to confirm. Email received from John Saturday, yes Saturday, allowing me to take an informed decision on the severity of the problem. I decided to proceed with the purchase and we exchanged contracts the following Monday. I would certainly use John again and have recommended to a mate who has just put an offer on a property. I thank John Murphy surveyor for providing the survey and the end result which was well presented and looked highly professional.Overall,I am happy with the service and have already recommended a prospective client to them. The only issue I had was that I had to contact them some days after the survey had been completed as I hadn't heard anything from them. They did apologise for the delay, which I accepted.
