We used Beaumont Legal for the sale and purchase of a property, both at the same time. The service provided by our main contact, Sam Rouse, was excellent and we would most certainly use them again. Sam was superbly professional throughout the whole process and his client relationship skills were excellent, with timely responses to any correspondence. You read some horror stories about house moving (this was our first move in 20 years!!) but the whole process was smooth and that was mainly down to the service from Beaumont Legal and particularly Sam Rouse.

We have used this firm before about 2 years ago and they were OK then - not this time. Most of the work was outsourced to a conveyancing firm, and they had significant staffing issues which caused all sorts of problems in what should have been the most simple transaction (cash first time buyer!). There were unexplained delays, documents went missing and it was often difficult to get in touch with anyone who knew anything about the case. A major concern was that any negotiation that needed to be done with the vendors was poor...the clerical staff at the conveyance firm were no match for the vendors sharp solicitor and this ended up costing us quite a lot of money. I certainly would not use them again.

Excellent service from start to finish, especially from Tim himself who was superb. I would not hesitate to recommend them. It's just a shame everyone in our chain didn't use them, as there are clearly some really terrible solicitors out there!

Our case was completed in nine weeks, a very fast efficient service. Although we were contacting them at least once a week, but I understand this to be normal and our emails were answered within 48 hours. Sometimes we enquired about post that was sent, and after a week of it not arriving on there desk we had to suggest to look for it. We did find that we were not receiving information as soon as it was available and sometimes felt less knowledgeable about the case, especially when our seller would tell us what was happening before our solicitor. We did have a rather pushy seller and I do wonder that the reason our solicitor didn't tell us what was happening was because it wasn't the right time to know about it. We did however feel that sometimes we were actually doing some of the solicitors contact work for them. Again we had direct contact with the seller, which is not a usual set-up and would never recommend it and we were getting inventories directly from our seller as our solicitor hadn't.

In summary overall service was fast, but I feel there were a few information communication issues.

We’re always looking of ways to improve communication and we have made several enhancements to the online portal to ensure that customers can get updates at the earliest opportunity – including being able to directly message your case handler from an App on your phone. When we receive information from the seller’s solicitor, we check this and potentially go back to the other side to raise further enquiries before sending the information through to you. However, we appreciate this can be a stressful time if the seller is also contacting you direct.
