I was initially a little wary of using a "non-local" company but this proved to be totally unfounded as NBM kept me fully informed throughout by e-mail and the on-line tracker

Excellent online portal to keep up to date in the progress of our mortgage, regular contact and real attention shown by our solicitor, often sending replies out of hours and at weekends. Daveena and the team were professional and friendly all the way through and worked efficiently. I’d thoroughly recommend NBM, and I will certainly use them again. Above and beyond, thanks very much

Quick replies to messages on case tracker but progress of the purchase going slow.... it takes them 1 working day to process a payment and then you have to wait couple of working days for everything. Matter of urgency doesnt seem to apply here.... it feels like they take on too many cases all at once and struggle to deal with all, making process longer than it should be.

Seems quite slow. Had to chase them a lot. They had potential for good communication using their online platform conveytracker, but it wasn't forthcoming.

Poor service followed by the most unprofessional personal attack by Mr Broadhead. The initial issue was mostly caused by a lack of phone coverage/voicemail at NBM which on the day of intended exchange meant that myself, two estate agents, and two solicitors couldn't reach Mr Broadhead to arrange release of contracts. Worse though was that when I managed to reach Mr Broadhead (by going through the new client phone line and asking someone in sales to get a message to him to ask him to call me), he launched into a tirade against me, calling me pathetic. When I questioned this with him he said I was free to select another solicitor, knowing full well that I had no such option without adding six weeks and a lot of expense to the process. To add insult to injury, the complaint I sent in to NBM Law was not fully considered by the firm, it's clear to me that they are closing ranks to protect Mr Broadhead. They are cheap, so the lack of a decent service may fall into the "you get what you pay for" category, but there is no excuse for such abusive unprofessional behaviour to anyone, let alone a paying client. I will be sending this onto the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Slow paced and communication wasn't great. We wasted 10 days where the query replies from the Vendor's solicitor were ignored or lost in someone's inbox and in that time we could have read the queries and proceeded to exchange.

Thought they were fine, did what they said when they said it

I did not feel well looked after at all and simple errors were made routinely.
