Solicitor and Licensed Conveyancer price transparency great for home buyers

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) have introduced new transparency rules with regards to pricing.

believes this will finally allow for price comparison sites, we’re very proud to say we’ve been encouraging clear pricing and transparency that allows quick conveyancing quotes for almost 20 years!
It’s also why we value reviews so highly – transparency in price should be in collaboration with transparency in service, giving the consumer the power to make an informed choice.
Knowing what costs to expect in advance will help with planning your move. There are multiple costs associated with conveyancing that many people don’t understand when they search for prices. Making clear the difference in prices with local firms, as well as things like disbursements and Stamp Duty payments is in the best interests of the consumer and avoids any confusion down the line.
This allows conveyancing solicitors and licensed conveyancers to meet (and exceed) their customers’ expectations.
What does this mean for referral fees?
We’re particularly passionate about referral fees being made clear – when estate agents, mortgage lenders and solicitors have referral schemes in place (sometimes for £hundreds), consumers deserve to know whether they are paying a premium for that service.
Comparing conveyancing costs in local areas gives them an understanding of an average price without a referral fee on top, but from the 6th
December when the new rules come in, consumers will easily be able to understand what they’re paying for.
We think being able to easily compare prices isn’t just about saving money and time – it’s about choosing the right company for you. The SRA and CLC rules go a long way towards helping more people make informed choices.
