Mr Reliable Removals & Storage

This job was a full pack and move service of a three bedroom property from Dartford to Huddersfield we moved 1300cf worth of belongings dismantling all furniture needed and taking units off the walls where required. We was asked if this could be done in one day moving it into the customers brothers storage company in Huddersfield as they did not want it done over two days. It was explained right from the beginning that it could be done but would be a very long day due to the distance of the move and the fact they wanted the full packing service. We had the three bedroom property with garage and garden packed up and loaded just after 3pm. We was supposed to start at 7am which one member of staff did arrive on time I arrived at 7.45am having got stuck in traffic with my partner who has been doing the job for 3.5 years but only came to pack as she is now 6 months pregnant but can still pack the property and the other staff member had to give blood and came straight after to also pack the property to speed things up so there was 4 members of staff. On a normal pack and move we would have three members of staff on the move but due to a member of staff having a small heart attack in the days leading up to the move rather than cancel the job my partner said she would come in and help with the packing to speed things up. We did not stop every 30 mins for tea and when we did have a tea we carried on working and did not stop for a tea break more drinking and working although in most jobs you would have taken a break from starting work from 8am to 3pm so not really anything wrong with that? We was still fully packed up and loaded by 3pm but I was hoping to be loaded by 1pm to miss the rush hour traffic getting to Huddersfield. I did explain to the customer it would be a very late finish with the drive and unloading for us and her husband and could put it in storage with us to deliver any other day they requested free of any additional charges but she insisted we deliver that day. If it would have been a local move we would have been two hours unloading which was how long we took unloading it Huddersfield and been finished before 6pm on a full pack and move three bedroom property which is how long it normally takes around 10 - 12 hours with a full packing service from start to finish but due to the long drive we did not finish until midnight. I spoke to the husband when unloading and said sorry for getting up to Huddersfield at 10pm but it was a lot to do in one day and did explain this when we booked the move in a few weeks before that it was always going to be a very long day and was told that would not be a problem. He did help by pushing the trolleys round and we got on well with him on the night and he did not have a problem with anything but did say he had a job interview an did not have to leave until 10am, so is not a problem. We also at no point rushed the packing or unloading and did the job to our normal high standards unloading the vans into the three units at the brothers storage. The husband was 100% happy with the way everything was done and even said sorry to us for insisting it be done in one day and the fact we was not going to get home until 6am the following morning, he felt sorry for us. This comment put on by the wife shows that no matter what is thrown at us and no matter how demanding some moves can be we always get the job done. I was very surprised about this comment as nothing was said to us on the day and the wife was chatting to us all day and had two children so was talking about babies while my partner was packing the property just shows you can not please everyone although we do our best to go above and beyond for every customer.
