I booked the wrong weekend, Simply Removals were very understanding and managed to move us the next day! The two men hat moved us were very professional, they helped manage the move, suggesting what order we should load, gave us extra bags and were very thorough checking that we had moved everything and hadn't forgotten anything. Once at the new place they carried everything up two flights of stairs, it was exhausting work, I can't believe that just two men managed to move a four bedroom house into a three bedroom flat!

Telephone service prior to removal day was great. But the service on removal day was dire and very stressful. They turned up with a truck far too big to access our garage so my husband spent the whole morning loading the contents of the garage into our car and ferrying it to and fro the truck. The removals team spoke little to no English and offered no solution or alternative to this and seemed to find it all quite funny. This meant I was alone in the house with the kids and trying to manage the three men coming in and out, picking up everything in sight and unable to understand my requests to leave certain things. I had called ahead a few days earlier and asked if the team could bring some extra boxes on the day but this apparently hadn't been conveyed and they didn't have any. They didn't put anything on the floor and tramped mud throughout the place, ignoring my requests to step on the paper I'd hurriedly put down. At one point one of the men was leaving the place with what was obviously my handbag over his shoulder to load on the van – where's the logic in that? I had to chase him and get it back. I ended up hiding the stuff we wanted to keep with us in a cupboard. At one point I had to stop them shoving a vintage piece of furniture through the doorway as I could see they were damaging it. When I tried to request certain boxes weren't stacked as they were delicate, they looked at me blankly. It was hugely frustrating and stressful. At the other end my husband ended up becoming a fourth removal man and unloading with them, just to get it all over with quickly. When we couldn't locate something and asked if they knew where it was, they talked amongst themselves and were obviously laughing at us. There's still one piece of electrical equipment missing since the move. The whole process could have been made easier and these problems overcome with three simple changes. 1) Visit the location or specify the access needed. 2) Have at least one member of the team who is fluent in English. 3) Instruct team to always put down floor coverings in both properties and have more respect for property and client.

Good value as one of the cheapest quotes we received and the removal men were helpful and professional for the most part. By the end of the day though they were less so, and wouldn't take a few extra items which we'd forgotten about. Very much you get what you pay for (which for us was fine in the end) rather than going the extra mile for the customer.

The movers were diligent and charming young men. They dealt with very boxes and did everything with a smile.

Staff are poorly trained, communication very difficult because of language barriers. They brought stuff I'd specifically told the driver had to be left. The attitude to this was indifference and the item was abandoned on my driveway. Precious items were manhandled and an expensive chandelier broken. Their packing service is inferior, glass was broken. Staff were arguing and yelling at one another when having difficulty getting items up the stairs. ( moving is stressful and this added to the stress). When I told the driver they were impolite and I was nt impressed, he proceeded to argue with me about it instead of a simple apology. Earlier on that week I had another removal company bring my stuff out of storage ( they had packed and moved me a year before) I regret not using them as they were a little more pricey, but comparing them ( 2 days of moving and 8 containers of belongings) to this company is chalk and cheese. (They were professional, polite and respectful of my belongings. I unpacked every box and not one item broken. ) I would not recommend Simply Removals at all. An inferior service.

The service was appalling. Although I gave a list of what I was moving, the van they sent was too small. I was told it was my fault and my bed was too big. This resulted in my car being packed to the rafters with the smaller stuff and having to leave some garden plants. The whole process was made more stressful and I would never use this company again. In fact once I am connected to a phone line I am going to make a formal complaint.
