Movers arrived three hours early and were pushy about getting started. Our time was scheduled around key pick up and when we called the company about what to do they told us to ask the movers to take a break until the scheduled time. They did so, however they remained parked in the driveway right in front of our front windows and came in and out to use the loo. A bit awkward. At the new property they struggled carrying things into the property. We were careful to identify heavy items and not only did they ignore the instructions, but often carried two super heavy boxes at one time, while grunting around saying things are heavy. Our valuables were not treated as valuables. One man carried a very expensive piece of delicate sound equipment (identified as FRAGILE) with one hand while carrying other items with the other hand. The fragile item had to be kept level and had two carrying straps as part of the box so that this could be comfortably done. He instead carried it in by one strap with the item hanging at a 45 degree angle while carrying framed and glassed artwork in the other hand. They ignored the rooms listed on the boxes and dumped everything in the hallway - one of us is tiny and unable to lift heavy things and the other has a serious wrist injury - we called in the help because we needed it and regretted using this company. Unprofessional.

We are sorry to hear you regret using our company. The removal teams would only commence a removal when the customer allows for them to start the move, the removal team would ask the customer if they could park on the drive way and use their loo. The removal teams have undergone manual handling training and carry customers goods professionally and correctly identifying and liaising with the client as to where they should be placed at the delivery address

I really regret using this company for my removal. Everything seemed to be okay when they rang and we agreed on a price. I asked a few times if there were any conditions or was it a final price to help me move. I was assured that it was a final price. On the day of the removal, the guys helping in the removal started an argument that the space in truck for 2 bedroom removal was finished and I would have to pay more to get more stuff in. I then got a call from the company saying that I had used up the space that they had allocated and I had to pay 150 extra. I was completely taken by surprise. The quote did not mention this. But with half our stuff already loaded I had no option but to agree. Once the truck was loaded and was being unloaded I was told that it was an extra 60 pounds because of an hour of waiting that the guys had to do. Again what a surprise. There was no mention of this "wait" charge at all. In fact I had said it would be 1 pm by time we get keys and it was okay during the quote estimation. So all in all, what is usually a stressful day was made worse by these guys who pretty much held me to ransom and made me spend more cash. I will never use this company again. My advise to you all to use a local family run unit, you will never have to undergo the added stress of shelling out more cash.

The removal Quotation was based on the information the customer provided when he made the booking and a removal vehicle of adequate size was assigned to his removal, as there were additional goods to be moved obviously there will be an increase in price which the customer agreed to, Waiting time is clearly stated in our Terms and Conditions and is explained to customers during their pre move confirmation telephone call

I would love to be able to write an unconditionally positive review: the team on the phone are friendly and helpful, the ordering and set up really is simple, and the guys that came on the day were courteous and hard working. I had a couple of issues which its worth being aware of if you use them. The main issue is with the way this firm does its estimating. They keep their costs down by not sending someone round to your house, but this means that like a budget airline, you may run into lots of extras on the day. Despite me ringing three times to check they were really sure the van was big enough, and going through how much stuff we had, they decided on the day they needed an extra van - charged by the hour rather than the discounted advance rate - and double the number of boxes (I was told in advance "I've never known anyone need more than 45" - we needed 110 for a 3 bedroom property). In the end I did a deal with customer services and paid just for the van not the boxes, but I still paid almost double their original estimate. So I would recommend them, but you must really nail the van size/number of boxes issue before you start. One other thing is the guys we had were fairly random in labelling and distributing boxes, so be prepared for stuff to end up in rooms you didn't expect. I had briefed them before on a system I suggested they follow, but in the heat of the move they abandoned it.

If the client had requested a site survey we would have sent someone to view the work involved but have no record of him requesting this service. We are pleased to hear he thought the removal guys were courteous and hard working, On the day of the removal there were additional boxes to move and the customer agreed to the extra charges, we would point out that some supervision is required regarding the positioning of a client's goods

The phone line was really helpful. The removal men were fine and very skilled although they weren't informed there was a key waiver (I had to show them receipt). They also set off with our stuff without telling us which was a little unnerving (but they had simply gone ahead to the new house so no harm done ultimately. Not amazingly cheap but a good service and worth the money.

We are pleased to hear the phone line was really helpful and we provided a good service that was worth the money, we also try to provide competitive quotes. The removal team are professional and would have been advised of the key waiver by their office. The removal team said they did advise the customer they had finished loading, because they asked them to check nothing had been left behind before making their way to the delivery address.

Company sent a van half the size of the one booked; sent another one nearly three hours later (at which point the new owner was sitting outside); I ended up leaving half my garden pots etc because of the time constraints and space issues; removal men wanted to dump and run; I would never recommend.

The initial removal vehicle that was sent was based on a third party viewing, A second removal vehicle was sent to help as soon as one was available. All items requested to be moved were removed by the removal teams who would ensure all items are positioned to the customers instructions and that the customer is happy before leaving site.

Summary: Outsourced to complete inept crew who had no care whatsoever for our stuff and broke a lot of it. They were also very rude. Details: Two crews turned up with two different vans. Neither knew the other was supposed to be there. One crew was made up of two men who told us that they were on a fixed fee for the job rather than regular employees. This was evident in their behaviour as they rushed in and out of our flat, throwing boxes labelled as “fragile” around like they were bales of hay, carrying carelessly, one under each arm, bashing them off door frames and then dumping them down carelessly in their van. Each time we caught them doing this, we asked them to be more careful – initially politely, but eventually quite angrily. Each time they muttered an apology but did not change their behaviour. They proceeded to dismantle any piece of furniture they could in order to speed their process up – including old pieces of furniture which did not need to be dismantled to be brought into the property and have not been quite the same since reassembled (which we of course then had to do ourselves). No trolleys, straps or any other lifting equipment was used, no blankets were put on top of delicate furniture in the van, and our possessions were not stacked in the van in a way which protected the more delicate items. It was piled up to the roof with hard metal objects stacked on top of soft wooden surfaces etc. Furniture with wooden polished finishes was rested on its side on concrete steps rather than on its base when carried out of the old house and into the new house. Items were dropped many times and door frames, walls and banisters collided with tables, coffee tables and appliances as they were rushed through the property. When we booked the job we were clear that we did not know when we’d receive the key for the house we were moving into and we therefore paid a “key waiver” fee so that we would not be charged extra for the wait between loading and unloading. This fact had clearly not been shared with the fixed fee crew, who having spent the morning hurrying to empty our old property, were pretty grumpy when they realised they would need to wait for a few hours before unloading. The other van included another two man crew. One of whom (who told us it was his first day on the job) was incredibly careful, professional and considerate. He spent most of the day looking quite embarrassed by his new colleagues and tried very hard to make them be more careful. If everyone who works for Simply Moving was like this guy, they would be able to provide an excellent service. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Old pieces of furniture that can’t be replaced have been damaged badly. An expensive fridge was broken after we watched it get bounced of various walls and doorways, and the whole day was made much more stressful and unpleasant that it should have been. We complained on the phone, received a verbal apology and were encouraged to make a claim under Simply Moving’s insurance policy. We await the outcome of that claim – but we’ve already been advised that the coverage is “not new for old and it’s generally considered that all household goods only have a useful life of 10 years and depreciate by 10% per year” which does not bode well in terms of us feeling like we have been properly looked after now that everything has gone quite badly. Simply can't believe they manage to provide such a bad service to everyone who uses them otherwise there is no way they would still be in business.

We would ask the customer to send photos of the alleged damaged items so that we can investigate his removal fully as his comments are most unusual
