The worst moving experience I have ever had (and we’ve moved 5 times in 8 years). Didn’t come to survey because of lockdown, but based quotation on what other companies had quoted in terms of cubic meters. We ended up having to pay and extra £400 plus VAT on moving day for a van to make a second trip (we only moved 10 mins down the road). Things were broken by the removers and not owned up to - we discovered, for example, that when they were reassembling a wardrobe, they damaged the interior and rail bracket so the rail wasn’t useable. Rather than bring our attention to it, they ignored it and waited for us to discover. They were surly, constantly smoking on our property and the office appeared to be only interested in money and completely lacking care for our belongings and moving experience.
Even after paying the van to make another trip (in which it had excess space) and after being 3 hours late to vacate our house (even though we had purchased the packing service too) the removal men left a whole room behind, which my husband had to go and clear that evening. I’ve asked for a partial refund as they clearly have not met the basic standards for a removal company and to claim on the insurance I paid for the broken items, but have yet to have a response to the majority of my complaint.
They have made one repair so far, but have not claimed yet for the items which are irreparable (they snapped the top of a cast iron outdoor table clean off).
We made the sorry mistake of choosing the company that appeared to be the cheapest, but ended up costing us a lot more.

Due to lockdown we were unable to complete site visits, however we do offer video surveys to ensure quotes are accurate. This was offered twice in advance of the move which was rejected, you had asked us to quote on a cubic capacity based on another companies survey instead. We had based our quote on a capacity 15% larger than the third party results. On the packing day we had advised that this will not be large enough. To ensure your property was empty on time we had asked if it was possible to move garden items to your new address on that day, you had rejected this instead choosing for the removal team to make a second trip on your move day. Unfortunately there was minor damage to a couple items in your move, this was brought to the attention of your husband on the day who had said due to how quick and efficiently the guys had worked and the age of your items it was not a problem, however you had chosen to claim through our free of charge liability cover. We have paid out in full for the repairs of the 2 damaged items, including the garden table which was 18 years old and extremely weathered being outside for that amount of time.

Liam was really helpful.
However, I didn't list every single items which would need to be dissembled as I thought some of them would be obvious, a double bed for example. As I hadn't listed them the removals guys wouldn't dissemble or reassemble them at the new house so I had to do this myself! There were a couple of items I had to do this to and it was added stress to the day. They simply wouldn't help as I hadn't listed them out, despite there being loads of time.
We moved during the covid19 pandemic and the removal guys didn't wear gloves or face masks, in fact there was no information given about social distancing at all.
Lastly, they left the legs of my sofa in the old house, luckily I saw them when I was locking up and grabbed them. When we got to the new house and they realised I told them I picked them up. They were obviously relived and saw the funny side of it but there was no apology from them.
