We have a wealth of experience and knowledge on a fast variety of buildings. We are independent from banks, building societies and insurance companies (hence the name Black Cat). • Black Cat has the knowledge and expertise in many areas of property and buildings and can provide our clients with a comprehensive and "one-stop" service.
  • We have a detailed and thorough knowledge of properties over a wide area within the South East of England ranging from London to Middlesex, Hertfordshire, Surrey and the Home Counties.
  • If required, we offer extended hours service: appointments available evenings and weekends.

Black Cat strives to be different and we understand people make their purchasing decisions on differences.

Black Cat has just purchased a drone to examine at close quarters, previously inaccessible areas. These areas include: chimney pots, chimney stacks, lead flashing, roof tiles, ridges and gutters.

Most houses have problems with these items and inspecting from ground level with binoculars can be difficult. Black Cat have the advantage of using a drone which most other surveyors don’t have access to. For a small extra fee Black Cat will utilise the drone to inspect these inaccessible areas to give our clients a more complete picture, literally as the drone records photos and video of these areas.

Really great service from Ed and BlackCat. Ed, kept me informed and delivered a very high quality survey, especially the large number of pictures he took during the Survey.

Very good service. Survey booked in quickly. Ed spend a long time debriefing on his findings and answering questions before sending the report which was very helpful. Would recommend.

We used Black Cat Surveyors to conduct a full structural survey on our purchase of a 100+ year old property. We were very happy with the level of service provided by Ed – the report arrived within a week and was thorough and easy to understand for first time buyers such as ourselves. It came with a link to an online directory of 300 photos he had taken during his inspection. This is above and beyond the service offered by other surveyors and by having a photo to refer to, made it much easier to follow the points outlined in his report. The report was followed up with a phone call where we had the chance to go over any questions we had or areas which needed further explanation/clarification. Based on our experience, I would happily recommend Ed Farmer to anyone looking for a chartered surveyor.
