I am planning to buy 1 bed flat in Chester (retirement house) for the price of £50,000. What is the reasonable purchase fee plus Vat and Disbursements for purchasing that property and why some of the law firms take an additional £150 plus Vat for the flats? Thank you.

In regards to the increased fee for flats, many flats are leasehold properties and the conveyancing process for leasehold properties has an additional amount of work and investigations required, therefore the price for the conveyancing of a leasehold flat can be higher than that of a freehold property.
