Kingswinford is a large suburb of the metropolitan area of Dudley, located in the heart of the West Midlands. The town has a long history, one that is evident in the period architecture and listed buildings one often sees in the town centre. In fact, the infamous Gunpowder Plot was thought up in the town and has left its mark in the names of many of the areas streets.
Kingswinford has also undergone several regeneration programmes in recent years so that the area also has a modern character and several upmarket housing estates. As well as the well-equipped Merry Hill shopping centre, Kingswinford is also home to family-owned and independent businesses that cover all of your shopping needs. There is also a great selection of restaurants and pubs along the town’s famous Market Street. The Wall Heath Tavern is a local’s favourite.
The Ashwood Nurseries and John’s Gardens are a little green oasis near the centre of Kingswinford that provide the perfect place to relax and unwind. If you prefer a more strenuous walk, the grounds of the nearby Himley Hall are just a short drive away. From Kingswinford, many residents commute to Dudley or even further afield to the Birmingham.
