Friendly staff. There was a small delay in getting my report back but they were extremely busy. They were able to carry our the survey swiftly from my original request but they took two weeks to get the report to me when I was told originally 6-7 days.

Survey was booked in for within a week of initial contact with company. I received the report back 7 working days after survey was conducted. The report was very thorough. I had a full building survey done and it was value for money when buying an older house. Hugh James gave me the cheapest quote and were very efficient.

* Total west of money, didn't check roof given reason that it is not safe, mostly all Victorian property have same place and same way to get in loft, surveyor giving reason that its not safe to go if owner will provide safe access for that then he will do it for free when he will be in area . * Didn't give exact report like normal building survey should be . he recommend CCTV survey for drain, damp proofing survey, roof checked by someone else , all this things should be covered in building survey but its not * when i have instructed they said i will get report next week called twice after week completed then i have got report

Our survey was conducted thoroughly to all accessible areas and detailed in the report which we provided to the client. We were unable to gain access into the roof void as the opening was too small to permit safe entry and carry out a thorough inspection of the roof structure. We advised the client, it was prudent for the opening to be widened to enable access, we also advised that we will revisit the property to inspect and report on the condition once the vendor arranges alternative access. We made the client aware of typical defects known in a Victorian roof space and we strongly advised on a re inspection to be carried out by us prior to the client committing with the purchase of the property. There was no added cost for any re inspection. Other recommendations reported such as damp proofing works and Close Circuit Television Survey was considered necessary following our notes of dampness and blockage in some of the drains when we lifted the manholes. Obtaining cost for remediation works will enable the client to establish the likely cost deemed necessary including any potential financial liabilities.
