Question

We are looking to buy a grade 2 listed property built in 1840. What type of survey would you recommend?

Answer

As this is a Grade II listed building then the survey type for this kind of property is a Level 3 Building Survey report, the RICS Homebuyer Level 2 report being more suited for non-listed buildings.  This is, at least in part, due to the fact that a listed building has potentially higher repair/maintenance costs and that having such a designation can also severely restrict works that a buyer may wish to undertake.

Reallymoving.com made it easy to find a surveyor. I was very pleased with the surveyor we used and it’s all thanks to reallymoving.com
