Question

We are looking to buy a grade 2 listed property built in 1840. What type of survey would you recommend?

Answer

As this is a Grade II listed building then the survey type for this kind of property is a Level 3 Building Survey report, the RICS Homebuyer Level 2 report being more suited for non-listed buildings.  This is, at least in part, due to the fact that a listed building has potentially higher repair/maintenance costs and that having such a designation can also severely restrict works that a buyer may wish to undertake.

The quote was accurate and an excellent price compared to other quotes I found. The survey was booked in straight away through the estate agents so it was very hassle free for me and then I received the report a few days later. It was thorough. I was very pleased and would definitely recommend.
