Megan and Riona were great, as was Gemma McBride, who helped me progress the final instructions as Riona was on A/L the week that the missives concluded. Overall I was very happy with Nero. I was a little taken aback that the final cost was significantly higher than the quoted estimate. When they provided the estimate they told me the quote covered all costs that they could reasonably predict at that point, so unless unforeseeable issues / complications arose, it should cover everything. However, the total bill included several fees that I think should have been anticipated, such as "Dealing with mortgage lender" (£252) and "Alteration documents" (£180). I appreciate it's difficult to know the extent of this at the start of the process, but given that my purchase was a straightforward transaction with no particular complications, I assume these types of costs are fairly standard and something you should expect. At the very least, I think it could have been highlighted to me at the start of the process, when I specifically asked about it, that there would most likely be some additional costs for liaising with the seller and lender, updating documents etc. Some typical "average costs" of this type of work would also have been handy, but even just a heads up that this should be expected would have been appreciated. Nevertheless, I thought Nero did a good job and the final cost still seemed like a competitive price.
