New forum launches for home movers

By The reallymoving Team Updated 5th Apr, 2024

reallymoving acquires forum to help movers find answers to their homemoving questions

21 March 2018: A new online forum for people moving home has launched on reallymoving.com, providing a space where people can ask questions, share opinions and voice frustrations on the ups and downs of buying, selling and renting property.

The forum includes an ‘AIBU’ (Am I Being Unreasonable?) thread inspired by the parenting website Mumsnet, where home movers can vent about their experiences and find out if they have truly lost the homebuying plot.

Purchased from Homemove.co.uk at the end of last year, the forum has already benefited from considerable investment by reallymoving.com to make it the ‘go-to’ place for those negotiating the home move process. It has over 12,000 members who have written 20,718 posts on a huge range of topics, including legal issues and fees, price negotiations, mortgages and surveys.

From general discussions about whether first time buyers should buy before Brexit, to specific questions about restrictive covenants and shared boundaries, the reallymoving.com forum is packed with tips and advice from fellow buyers and sellers across the country.

In addition, a panel of professionals, made up of reallymoving.com partners in conveyancing, surveying and removals, are on hand to answer users’ questions as they are submitted. Their expertise is an endless, free resource for movers who have questions about the home move process.

Rob Houghton, CEO of reallymoving.com said: “We have created a space where the thousands of people moving home in the UK at any one time, can come together to ask questions and seek opinions without judgement, bias or cost.

“Buying and selling property can be a complicated process but the collective experience of our users is vast and, along with the expertise of our panel, there isn’t much they won’t know the answer to. I hope the forum becomes an invaluable resource for anyone moving home and helps make their journey a little easier.”
