As I haven't moved house for 47 years I really didn't know where to start. I chose a few companies from reallymoving lists which gave me a good starting point and then had quotes from 3 of them in my area. Barnes gave me a very good quote, in fact much cheaper than the next in price, and they also told us about "BAR" members. They packed in snow showers and then unpacked in very wet, muddy conditions. Not the ideal but they still did a good job.I was very happy with the service.

Overall a good company. The removal men were very good and extremely pleasant. Just a couple of gripes regarding damge. My American Fridge Freezer was dented, this had no dents prior to the move. I pointed this out at the time and responsibility was not accepted by the removal crew. Also the wardrobe that was put together also suffered some damage. This was not pointed out to me and so I only discovered this later in the day. I was informed that my items are insured during transit and I realsie that accidents do happen so would have expected some acknowledgement and an apology at least!!!

JJ's family signed our team off this removal giving a clear and unqualified signature and we have not received a direct complaint since that day to allow us to discuss the matter. Our team confirm that they found the dented side of the fridge/freezer up against a wall at the old address and was therefore not visible before the removal commenced, but unfortunately was placed with this on view at the new address. They also report that in practice, self-assembly wardrobe frames rarely re-erect in an "as new" state during subsequent removals after initial purchase and no obvious damage was noted by any party on removal day. Yes, unfortunately two screws in a dismantled wardrobe were replaced in the wrong positions but we are endeavouring to assist with this repair, David Barnes

Reallymoving gave us the base from which to plan our move and an idea about the cost. All the firms who gave us a quote seemed professional and helpful. Barnes included details in their quote (like my 1965 motorbike) that others didn't and so we went with them, although they weren't the cheapest. We were very pleased with their helpfulness over the 'phone and with the attitude of the men who made the move. From start to finish it was probably as easy as a major move could be.

Jeremt Barnes is lovely. Gave us upmost confidence in his company and the movers. The men employed were not so good. Friendly but damaged many items and hid them so we didnt find out for a few days. Not sure I would use them again after losing count of the new dints and scratches in items. And you don't see what they have done until much afterwards as they pile stuff up. They also get you to sign adisclaimer before you have chance to check anything.

The customer signed our driver's jobsheet to say that they were satisfied with their removal on its completion. This was not a disclaimer. If we had known of any damages five weeks ago we would of course have responded but after such a gap this is 'out of time' according to our OFT constructed contract.
