 As an independent sole practitioner, I can offer impartial, professional advice, and work within RICS guidelines, ensuring clients receive all the information they need.

I am able to work outside standard working hours, and on weekends, to make sure needs are met.

I offer a RICS Building Survey and a RICS Condition Report.

The Building Survey is best suited if you are buying an older or unusual property, or are planning on carrying out building works. It will tell you the condition of the property, will highlight any issues and outline repair options and approximate costs.

A Condition Report is not as indepth as a Building Survey, but will offer an overview of the condition of the property, in an easy to read 'traffic light' rating system. It will summarise the risks, potential issues and guarantees/planning permission if necessary for your legal advisors.

I am always happy to chat through the report with clients and explain anything that may be concerning.

JP was very thorough and quick at carrying out the survey. The photos that he provided with the report were extremely useful and the detail in the report was fantastic. JP was clear in his advices and very helpful. I would definately recommend JP.

John Paul was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. As first time buyers, my wife and I were new to the whole experience. We had read that a full building survey was the best option but had read that such a report could include (or exclude) a variety of checks. John Paul patiently explained the entire process to me, giving advantages and disadvantages to each type of survey. He explained exactly what he would check and how he would do this. He also outlined how he would report back to us in terms of his final report and also his recommendations. John Paul arranged everything directly with the vendor which was very convenient. He completed the report in a timely fashion. The quality of the final report was exceptional; so much more detailed that I was expecting. The report, together with his sensible recommendations gave us the confidence to pursue the house buying process with knowledge and confidence. Moreover, we requested that the vendor correct a few repair issues identified by the survey and, because of the amount of evidence we could provide from John Paul's report, they did this without quibble. As well as this, John Paul was available on the phone to explain any part of his report that we wanted further information on - although the detail and quality of the report made this largely unnecessary. In summary, I couldn't recommend JP McGeough highly enough to anyone considering buying a property. My wife and I are currently setting an exchange date and will move into our new home with confidence that we are making an intelligent and well informed purchase.

Friendly, helpful and very thorough. John visited our intended property promptly and delivered the report exactly when he said he would. He provided excellent advice and service throughout and I particularly valued being able to discuss issues identified in the survey by telephone with him in person.
