Uncommunicative, unhelpful, inefficient and generally uninterested once we signed up. Before that they appeared helpful and pleasant so what a nasty surprise we got. Not answering emails, when pressed answering in one or if lucky up to three words. On the telephone we appeared to be a nuisance. If we had a question relating to the conveyancing we were told to ask the estate agent or the vendor! How could these people know the answers as to how McFadden Perry were progressing with our purchase? In total they made our buying process a nightmare for us. We exchanged contracts on the 3rd of July and got our deeds today 11 February, 7 months of pressing for closure! I can now finally rate them as I need have no further dealings with them. I rate them as diabolical!

I acted for two ladies in this transaction, who were relocating from France to Dromore (with their pet). One of which has chosen to make comments which could not be further from the truth. Myself and my staff were conscious of the complications arising from arranging completion in Northern Ireland, to fit in with completion in another jurisdiction and especially when a pet is involved. I communicated with both these ladies many times, and at no time did they express dissatisfaction with my services. Quite the contrary - With regard to registration, it is not unusual for this to take some months due to a backlog and staff shortage. In the NI Land Registry I have asked both ladies to contact me, or allow me to phone them to ascertain why Ms Brown has felt the need to express herself as she has, and Ms Brown has refused the invitation.

You get what you pay for with this firm - That is, a cheap price and a cheap service. We were first time buyers and the vendor was selling and moving into rented accommodation so not exactly a chain to hold up the process. Probably the least complex purchase you could hope for. From sale agreed to completion the entire process took 12weeks! No doubt the firm will blame the vendors solicitors but I spent weeks harassing them to push the other solicitor and all I got was frustration and brush offs. Communication was very poor and felt powerless to be able to do anything. I got my final completion date only days before we got the keys so again more frustration when trying to organise a house move around this. The comments I read on the website made the firm sound like a reputable company and have provided great value for service for previous customers but knowing what I know now I would NOT have used them and would gladly pay the extra £400 quoted by other solicitors.

My practice should not be judged on the basis of this review. The client advises that he was a first time buyer and as such inexperienced as to conveyancing procedure. I appreciate how frustrating it can be for clients wanting to be informed, and myself and my staff communicated regularly with this client, but we have no control over the time frame for responses from the other parties solicitor. Who for various reasons were not able to respond as quickly as the client would have wished. At no time during the transaction did he make a complaint or give any indication that he felt that myself or my staff were not doing our jobs properly. He in fact confirmed to me on more than one occasion that he understood that I had to wait for responses. As such I find his complaint inexplicable and unjustified. Regards, Linda

I bought a flat in May 2013 and received the deeds in December 2014. The time taken to deal with this purchase was much too long and I was not kept informed. I decided to have the deeds myself rather than leave them with the solicitors, which I would rather not do, but I am worried that the poor service might continue.

We received instructions 20/3/13 and the purchase completed beginning of May 2013 when client took possession of the property. Delay occurred in registration due to the vendors solicitor being unable to obtain a mortgage release document from their banker client in a timely fashion.

I live just over 130 mile round trip from McFaddenPerry, and chose them purely on price. I had dozens of local solicitors locally I could have used but in comparison to cost, McFaddenPerry won hands down. I didn't have to visit the office (although the option was there) they responded promptly to telephone calls and emails, and all documents were posted / signed & returned. they were very supportive on move day, when I received a telephone call at 09:15 to advise the money transfer had been completed successfully and I should expect the keys to be released. Even when the vendor had not vacated the property, they still remained in contact throughout advising what our next steps were to take. Although we have just moved; I'll definitely be going back to McFadden Perry! Today's technology has provided opportunities that otherwise we would simply have to give local solicitors "The going rate"; McFadden Perry breaks this myth providing a 1st class service for a really low fixed price that's well worth the money!
