Question
I live on the 3rd floor flat in a Victorian converted property. There is no lift to my flat. Will this be a problem on the day of my move? I am also moving to a similar property in London. What preparations will I need to make with my removals company to make sure there are no issues during the removal?
Answer
If, during your move, you will be relocating items from above ground floor level please make sure you discuss this in advance with your removal company at the time of booking. This is a service provided by all Removal Companies and will be factored in to the charges at the time of quoting you for your move.
reallymoving comment:
Before your move it may be worth your removals company coming to your property for a pre-move survey. This way they will not only be able to assess the volume of your belongings, and whether there will be any items of furniture that may need specialist care when moving, but also if there are any issues with access. Most removals companies will be willing to do this.
All removals companies that you will receive quotes from through reallymoving.com will be local to your area, so will have a working knowledge of the location and may have undertaken moves with similar access issues.
Always make sure your removals company is aware of any issues that may cause problems on the day of your move.

From initial contact to booking the office staff were great and friendly. On the day the moving team worked tirelessly in the cold and frost and didn't moan once. Nothing was too much trouble and they did a fantastic job in a very professional and timely manner.
