I have used Laurence Quilter twice within the space of 3 months after my first buy fell through. I received a discount for my second survey and was pleased. The staff were pleasant and my surveyor was helpful on both occasions.

Used Laurence Quilter in March of this year. They managed to attend at short notice before the vendor had to go on holiday to keep the process going. Happy with the service as they went above and beyond. The report was informative and I spoke with the surveyor afterward.

Unfortunately we didn't get as far as using their service as they firstly tried to tell us that what we actually needed was an inferior survey (level 2) and then they refused to honour the quoted price. In their email they told me that price comparison site "quotes are an estimate" and are not accurate. However they massively increased their price without any additional information from me, simply saying that they don't ever do level 3 surveys for the quoted price. This has left me feeling ambiguous about using reallymoving for other services if suppliers immediately dispute the veracity of their prices and simply renege on their quotes.
Hi Robert, We apologise for your dissatisfaction regarding our booking process. There are some points to note however: • The RICS Level 2 survey offered to you was not the inferior survey but rather what we deemed the more appropriate survey based on the size and age of your property. There have been numerous times in the past where clients were at risk of overpaying for a RICS level 3 Building Survey where a RICS level 2 Homebuyers Survey would do an adequate job. People are usually appreciative of this offer as it is looking out for the clients’ best interest. • As you mentioned, Reallymoving provide an estimated quote which is not legally binding in any format. We have since updated our prices to reflect our rates more accurately. Overall, it is regretful that you were upset by your experience. We wish you the best with your property and hope your transaction has gone smoothly.
