We would like to thank Anthony Parnaby and his team for the efficient and friendly manner in which they carried out our removal from North to South. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of moving. Its great to find a good firm like this when there are so many faceless and less reputable companies out there - highly recommended. Thanks Julian

The firm Parnabys provided a quote once they had been to our property and seen all our furniture and contents yet they seriously underestimated the size of vehicle required. This serious error of judgement meant we were late in vacating the property while the new owners were moving in and some of our belongings had to go into storage and some had to be left with two separate neighbours. We were not consulted and did not agree as to which items went into storage. Even after one trip back to Parnaby's base to put some items in storage it soon became apparent that there was still insufficient room in the vehicle so error of judgement yet again! We were then forced to leave things with two separate neighbours. This meant that we were without toiletries prescription glasses and were forced to dispose of contract lenses as storage solution and container were put into storage by Parnabys. We also had to sleep on the floor on a mattress the first two nights at the new home as tools needed to reconstruct our bed were left with neighbours! Dressing table had a drawer missing and sofa had sleeves missing for two days. We had to suffer extra expenditure in hiring a transit van to go back to retrieve items left with neighbours and this involved a whole day as our new home was about 2.5 hours away. As items were left with two neighbours we inadvertently left some plants and some other items such as lamp shades. Also on the first two nights we were without cooking pans and so had to even resort to warning soup in the oven! The items that Parnaby's put into storage were eventually delivered two days after our moving day but only after Parnaby demanded more money for the delivery of our items which they had put into storage because of their error, we did not pay the extra money demanded as it was entirely their fault they had to make the second delivery and their error had cost us in hire of van costs, fuels, and time (we are self employed and so a day was lost in returning for left items) and we lost things due to items being left in three different locations. What should have been a happy and exciting day turned into a farce with terrible stress and worry. I would not recommend this firm to anyone. A few days after the move my estate agent emailed me and said I head about your problems with the move and that the firm had sent too small a vehicle - I had not said anything so - word is out there. There are plenty of witnesses, several neighbours, the new owner of the property, the new owner's removal firm etc. to verify my account of this sorry episode. I am well aware that we are entitled to sue for breach of contract /or negligence for the losses we have suffered in relation to this, yet Parnabys was acting as if we ought to be grateful for the delivery of the items they had put into storage!

Hello JB, I am really genuinely very sorry the way everything went and I take full responsibility. Prior to your job we had a vehicle stolen and we could not send the luton I had for you so decided to try and do it with a smaller luton. I think even the larger luton would have struggled. In hindsight that was a mistake but we had another complaint that week because we did not do the move for them so decided to try and do it. I hope the thieves are pleased with themselves as it is still causing me problems. I try not to let people down and probably should have rang to cancel or to ask if we could use a 7.5 tonne lorry - which of course would have been more expensive, but, as we now know, was needed. We have replaced the vehicle now with three new ones so are back on track. The items left behind, I think, were part of a wardrobe, a couple of bikes, and a few boxes and unfortunately for you they were things you needed. I am sorry about that but was not aware your contact lens fluid and tools were in the boxes left behind. We did have them with you as soon as we possibly could which was less than 48 hours. I was not aware you had to hire a vehicle and had costs as you did not tell me. I am always fair and would have helped out. About me asking for help with costs. To be fair I did not demand money from you, you met me and talked to me and must know that's not in my nature. I understand you're upset but I think that is a bit harsh, I asked if you could cover the costs for a second run and you refused to cover our costs. I had quoted for a Luton van and really it should have been a 7.5 tonne. Yes that was a mistake but it does not take away from the fact you had much more than I quoted for. If you remember you rang the night before to add more items that we did not account for and also on the day we had to dismantle a very large wardrobe to get it out, all of which I did not ask for more money for. We made a run to storage 30 miles round trip, stored and then delivered to Derby - another 300 hundred mile round trip free of charge. Which to be honest was fair enough - it was my mistake. It's not something we are proud of as we always try and give our very best. You only have to look at our company record on the guest book page on our web site and on here to know this is not the norm for us. The lads worked extra hours on that job and worked very hard to try and please but because of the vehicle size could not. Again I am sorry for the upset. Kind Regards Anthony Parnaby Managing Director Parnaby Removals

I was very unsatisfied. We booked Anthony Parnaby removals however on the day a completely different company turned up - Anthony was not able to move us as agreed so instead he sent another local firm on our behalf without notifying us. I had no idea who the guys were that turned up having not researched them, although in the end they were fantastic. It is not Anthony's role to broker out our business without telling us.

Hello Sarah Thank you for your review. We would have loved to move you but as you know we had a vehicle stolen and it was all a bit last minute. You're right I should have rang but when you’re dealing with Police and arranging things you’re not thinking straight. I knew you were in good hands so thought you would be fine. What I did not want was your move to cost you more, or worse, not happen at all. I am glad the move we arranged for you went well - in your words "fantastic". I was not trying to be a broker, just trying to help. As the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished. Kind Regards, Anthony Parnaby Managing Director Parnaby Removals UK Ltd

Anthony was very easy to talk to over the phone, friendly, thorough and professional. The removal men were friendly, tidy, punctual and they did their job faultlessly. They were so helpful, very considerate of my mum, leaving her an armchair to sit on and only packing it at the last moment. Unpacking was similarly impressive. I would strongly recommend this company

The team packed for us, now all we have to do is unpack. Despite a couple of false starts, on our part, Anthony managed to give us the date we needed and it all went smoothly. The lads worked really hard and despite heavy rain, kept going until the move was complete. So thanks again for you service at a stressful time, this was one stress that was kept to a minimum.
