JPR Surveys Ltd.

JPR Surveys is a small practice of Chartered Surveyors. We provide a local, friendly service offering a professional investigation of a property and helpful advice on the most appropriate survey for your needs and during the process.

At JPR Surveys, we aim to provide a service that is of the highest quality and, based on our exceptional feedback from customers, we feel this is something we achieve consistently.

Before you purchase a property it is important to get a survey completed to check the property’s condition. I carry out HomeBuyer Surveys and Building Surveys and aim to turnaround reports within 3-5 days from the day of inspection. Both surveys are visual inspections only and will report on accessible parts of the property – they do not normally include lifting carpets or moving furniture.

The HomeBuyer Report will include a colour-coded rating of aspects of the property to highlight any of concern, focusing on significant matters that need further attention. It is produced to the format set out by the RICS.

Building Surveys are recommended for older buildings of unusual construction, or if you are intending to carry out renovation work. It is a more detailed survey and will include photographs of the property and the specific areas of concern.

Following completion of the survey, I am happy to discuss any queries you may have or to clarify any issues.

If you are unsure of the best survey for your needs, call me and I will be happy to provide advice with no obligation for you to proceed.

I am based in Bramford, Ipswich and cover the majority of IP and CO postcodes.

I have 25 years’ experience of residential buildings including working in a loss adjusting role handling subsidence and other buildings insurance claims.

I am regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, (RICS), and carry the appropriate Professional Indemnity Insurance required.

Paul was absolutely fantastic. He provided a thorough report which was easy to understand and incredibly detailed. He quickly responded to some queries I had about aspects of the report and went as far as providing photos of the loft which we needed to send to the solicitor. His pricing was incredibly reasonable and having passed the report on to my solicitor they were equally as impressed.

Very clearly written report produced to deadline. Additional things which were promised in advance - a brief summation on the day of the survey and a phone conversation following receipt of the report - both happened and were very useful. The appendix of photographs illuminating particular points were especially useful as, for example, we had not had sight inside the garage as it was locked with no key available when we had viewed ourselves and so were particularly reliant on this area of the report and the photographs provided. Thanks Paul!

I had a survey done December 2017, I had original requested a detailed builders survey however I was advised due to the age of my house a homebuyers survey would be more suited. The homebuyers survey was not accurate in many places, the surveyor had missed sloping floors in all of downstairs where there is a slope of 1.5-2 inches. There are a few walls which are bowing and floors which have sunk by half an inch in many of the rooms. Not really sure how an experienced surveyor can miss such serious issues.

I recently met the Client at his home to re-inspect and hear his concerns. Some floors were found to slope, but to a maximum of 8mm, (not the 2 inches claimed), and in my opinion were due to poorly laid laminate flooring. In some areas the skirting board was pinching the edge of the laminate causing it to bow upwards towards the middle of the room. There was no evidence to support subsidence or other structural movement.

Very quick and professional service, keeping in contact throughout the process. The email outling key issues on the day of the survey was extremely helpful to receive, before the full report was received promptly after. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Paul was quick, courteous and helpful. The report that he compiled for us was thorough, clear and excellent value for money - much better than surveys we've had done previously by other companies. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend using him.
