No glossy website but very professional and all seems to be in accordance with RICS standards. The report seems thorough and is informative. Andrew (Supported by his assistant Vivienne) was happy to answer any questions I had regarding the report, including clarifying the contents and new questions I hadn't thought to ask prior to the survey. Following the survey, he called me to give a verbal report as to the property's genreral condition. I received the report in less than a week, well within the timescale set out by Andrew. Appears to be good value for money. All in all, I'd be confident and happy to recommend.

The report was not great, they said on more than one occasion we need a 'ladder survey' my solicitor actually laughed and said what survey company doesnt take a ladder but instructs you to hire a survey of people with a set of ladders. Not good.

Dear Mover, You instructed an RICS Building Survey. As stated in the survey description sent to you, this is a ground level survey, though a three metre ladder is used to access hidden areas where possible. The subject property is three storeys high at the rear and is built on a steeply sloping site. Due to this, there were no acceptable views of the rear slopes of roof. In these situations a ladder survey is recommended, this was particularly important given the discrepancies in the roof space internally, as stated in the report. It is concerning that a solicitor would find this amusing and your comments on this suggest that they do not understand the terms of the Building Survey. Regarding your other comment that the survey was 'not great', all visible and accessible areas of the property were discussed and there were several issues which were raised, including potential structural issues. The majority of feedback from our customers mentions that the reports are thorough and easy to understand, we are sorry that you feel otherwise. Communication was primarily by e-mail. No phone numbers were provided and it took a lot of effort on my part to find that. Phones often went unanswered and voicemail messages were not picked up. The final report was well presented and provided me the information I needed. Overall experience was satisfactory but you could tell that this is a one-man firm. Pricing was slightly higher compared to the other surveyors on Reallymoving, but that was not a factor for me as I prefer working with smaller businesses.

Not prompt in communication. Better if they can update and being responsive in communicating with their clients.

Apologies if you feel our communication with clients was poor, we had a family bereavement and funeral last week, despite which all your emails were replied to promptly, and your payment was receipted as soon as it was received into our account - you requested a name change on your report after publication which was dealt with immediately, despite being out of work hours. I always received quick responses to emails and the date of survey was arranged within a week of contacting. I was told the report would be ready in 7-10 working days and it was ready in 7 as promised. Unfortunately when i got the invoice on a Friday to pay (before they released the report) I wasn't at home and couldn't setup a BACS payment so had to wait to receive the report on Monday. As i wasn't in a super big hurry this was annoying but not problematic but maybe use of a payment portal such as Paypal or world pay would be useful. The report was clear and concise and highlighted a couple of issues i suspected and provided very good descriptions as well as pictures of the problems. This was really useful as a first time buyer, the process was made simple and hassle free and i would definitely recommend there services.
