As a first time buyer, with nothing to compare against, I was unsure of what to expect from any conveyancer but overall I would say the service received from PM was 'ok'. This is in the sense they got the job done but I have several criticisms: - Not informed about the progress of my file unless I called myself - Rarely got calls back despite promises to do so - Didn't always get through to same person, so had to repeat myself multiple times - Sometimes unable to get through to anyone - Was not consulted before an expensive leasehold supplement was added to my bill - Was sent incorrect bill overcharging me for disbursements PM were still overall cheaper than everyone else (even after the extra charges), so anyone considering them should still bear this in mind. However, in future, if I were financially able to go elsewhere, I probably would.

Progress has been quite slow, but it’s hard to say where the delays are. However responses to emails are particularly slow. And things that perhaps could be given to us sooner to do seem to be sent a little disjointedly.

So far so good, I’m am half way through a sale and purchase and communication has been good and a timely service so far.

Absolutely terrible service. Wants to take everything at snail pace even if it’s a cash purchase. Communication apauling. Vital forms went awol, I had to go over to their head office to sign so I didn’t lose the sale. Wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy. When sale went through it took them two days and several phone calls from myself to get them to pay my mortgage company and estate agent and to return the outstanding funds to myself.

Thank you for your comments, though we are sorry to hear you weren’t happy with the service you received. Your sale completed 5 weeks after your initial instruction and within 1 week of us sending out the contract pack – the average timescale for a freehold sale is 8-10 weeks after we send out the draft contract pack so this was considerably faster than usual. Due to the very tight timescale, we did not receive the transfer document which you posted until after the desired completion date, resulting in you visiting the office to sign in person. We apologise for any delay in returning outstanding funds – there was a technical issue with our accounts team which did result in a slight delay. We trust you are now settled in your new home and wish you all the best for the future.
