Blackheath is a charming suburb of Greater London that sits on the border between the boroughs of Greenwich and Lewisham. The town has two separate areas of amenities. The Village is right at the south of the heath by the train station, and is the best place to visit for luxury shopping and great places for dining out. The Standard is towards the north-east of the commons and is a friendly neighbourhood located around a traditional square.
The Blackheath itself is vast expanse of flat, open parkland that is the local place to be as soon as the sun comes out. In fact, it is one of the largest commons in all of London. The park also merges with the Greenwich Park, the home to the Royal Observatory. Together they make a great space for all sorts of sports including rugby, cricket, athletics, and kiting. They even provide the start point for the London Marathon.
Blackheath is also a historic and cultural hotspot. The spire of the All Saints Church is an impressive local landmark situated just on the edge of the heath. In the Village area, you will also find a theatre and music venue that offers an exciting roster of well-known and local talent. Central London is easily commutable from Blackheath and it is well-connected by road. But the London streets can be hectic, so make sure you find a local expert moving company through reallymoving.
