Avoid this firm at all costs in my humble opinion as a customer. We had nothing but issues beyond the sales patter and quotes supplied by the sales department. 1. Your "personal" conveyancer is always on day off, holiday, dealing with other clients or on the phone. 2. They had obviously taken on more cases than they could handle in nov, dec as they spent weeks doing nothing on our case. 3. There systems do not allow for new home purchases so the online system is pointless. 4. They do not respond to emails. At all! Strange for an online firm. 5. They do not return calls. 6. They send the wrong information to other solicitors. I ended up doing stuff myself or we would never have completed. 7. You are a number. Its all very impersonal. Nothing like being able to see someone or wait in a local office to push things along. 8. They get the charges wrong on your invoices. Then don't respond to your emails to get things sorted. 9. Faxes, items, emails, posted items. "Just arrived today" whenever you chase anything up. 10. Incredibly slow. People answering phone don't have a clue and are poorly trained. Thats our 10 reasons. Don't put yourself through added stress of using people who quite honestly don't give a dam about your sleepless nights and just see you as a revenue stream. Save yourself. Don't do it. Use someone local. Please..................

As a first time buyer I did a lot of research both in finding quotes but also checking that the companies had good reputations. Having now completed I cannot reccend 1st property lawyers enough. Everything is very clear and the online platform invaluable. You can see the statuss of your case at any time and questions were answered within a couple of hours. They requested money upfront for a searches pack, but only used what was necessary for the area and deducted any money not used from the final bill. They weren't the cheapest quote I received, but I'm glad I paid the difference to get the service I did.

Was nervous about using online conveyance but I need not have worried, the online case status was really useful. Afreen was always available for me to speak to or email And her responses were quick. If I ever move again I will definably use their services again. Really quick turnaround, friendly and professional !

I'm afraid I had a mixed / poor experience with 1st property. I used them for the purchase of two properties. While the online system is good, they didn't respond to the online messages I left them on the system. I had to call them in the end which kind of defeats the object of having an online system. However, my biggest bug bear was that: 1) They didn't commence work until after 1 week after I appointed them and only after I had spoken to them on the phone where they repeated to me all the information I had provided them online and then said oh ok, we can now start work 2) Failure to pick up simple things like an EPC provided by the vendor not being valid (only picked up after the purchase and too late) 3) Failure to respond emails during the process until I called them up then items were magically 'just arrived'. It seemed to be the case that he who shouts loudest gets heard, everyone else gets ignored. 4) The day before completion I was suddenly told to pay several hundred pounds extra as a balance for service charges paid by the vendor in advance. However, this came with no calculation and it seems that this may have been miscalculated. I've tried contacting them a number of times on this but my queries have been ignored. 5) They were very slow in the end. Over 3 months for a simple purchase.

The service we received was atrocious. The sale should have been simple but took 4 months. 1st Property Lawyers didn't keep us updated and showed complete incompetence in handling our caae. Even their ability to communicate by email using basic grammar is questionable. They failed to comply with their own terms and conditions and the sale nearly fell through because the buyer's mortgage offer was due to expire. When we complained their response was to provide a discount but to add additional charges equal to the same amount. We are still pursing a complaint against them and cannot understand how they received such good feedback from others. DO NOT USE THEM.
