Established in 2010, Andrew McLaren Surveying Ltd has over 20 years’ building surveying experience. I am a local independent and fully qualified Chartered Building Surveyor covering Cheshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

My experience includes survey knowledge covering all types and ages of property. I specialise in residential building surveys and valuations for properties dating back to 1601 right up until the modern day.

I have a wealth of local, conservational, historical, and practical knowledge and great experience in surveying listed buildings.

I provide independent advice to all of my clients and you can be reassured that you will deal with the same person through the entire process of your building survey.

My approach is friendly and professional and will ensure that I deliver an efficient and reliable service to all of my clients.

Andrew was always polite and extremely helpful. He spoke with us for an extended time over the phone following his report, helping us understand the issues, their relative importance and the possible ways forward. We were very impressed with the service he offered.

A very thorough report, basically a RICS survey with additional bespoke queries covered. Andrew McLaren offers tremendous value for money. Report received within 4 working days of the survey, including a CD of photographs.

Excellent value, excellent service. In terms of constructive criticism: 1. I assumed (wrongly) that a property valuation was included in the price, especially as my instructions included a request for such. 2. I had to ask when the survey was to take place, and when I could expect to receive the report. It would have been useful knowing these without having to ask. Minor points. Just being a tough crowd.

Philip responded quickly by email to my original enquiry and set out the prices and products available. The whole experience from commissioning to receiving the report was extremely easy. The Home Buyer Report was ready only two days after the site visit. It was informative and not only helped me negotiate a price reduction but also gave me items to focus on in the future. Would recommend to anyone.

We were really impressed with the speedy and efficient service Mr McLaren provided. The report was thorough and detailed without containing unnecessary, off-putting jargon, and having consulted a friend in the building trade the guide prices and time scales provided for any remedial works necessary all appear realistic. He responded to emails and phone calls promptly, provided a great service for a great price and was pleasant and helpful to deal with. I'd happily recommend him to anyone.
